PISI privacy policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026
In short: PISI is a desktop app that runs on your computer. It has no account, no server, no ads and no analytics, and it doesn't sell or share your data. If you connect Google Calendar, PISI only manages a calendar of its own called “PISI”, and your data goes directly between your computer and Google.
Who we are
PISI is a free desktop companion made by Erkam Boyacioglu. Questions about this policy: boyaciogluerkam@gmail.com.
What stays on your computer
PISI keeps its settings, your focus counts, the cat's treats and things, and anything else you set up (habits, setups, the look of your cat) in a data folder on your own computer. None of it is uploaded anywhere. Only you can open that folder.
To do its job PISI also looks at a few things on your computer, there and then, without keeping or sending them: whether you're away from the keyboard (so the timer can pause), whether a window is full screen (so it keeps quiet in a game or video), and, only when you ask it to remember a habit's setup, which files and browser tabs are open (it looks up a tab's address in that browser's own history on your computer).
Google Calendar (optional)
Connecting Google Calendar is optional and off until you choose to connect it in PISI's Settings.
The permission PISI asks for
PISI requests one Google permission,
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.app.created, described by Google as
“Make secondary Google calendars, and see, create, change, and delete events on them.” It only
applies to calendars PISI creates. PISI cannot see, change or delete your other calendars or
the events on them.
What PISI does with it
- Creates one calendar named “PISI” in your Google account.
- Adds events to it: each focus block you finish (for example “✓ Focused 25 min”, with its start and end time), and the plans you approve in PISI's “Plan my day” (a title, a time and a short reason).
- Reads back the events on the PISI calendar only, so it doesn't add the same one twice.
Where the data goes
Requests go directly from your computer to Google's servers. There is no PISI server in between, and nobody else receives your calendar data. The sign-in token Google issues is stored in a file in PISI's data folder on your computer, readable only by your user account.
Your choices
- Disconnect in PISI's Settings: PISI deletes its stored token.
- Remove PISI's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Delete the PISI calendar in Google Calendar whenever you like.
Google API Services User Data Policy
PISI's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data from Google APIs is not used for advertising, is not sold, is not read by people, and is not used to develop, improve or train AI or machine-learning models.
Calendar address (iCal, optional)
If you give PISI a calendar's iCal address, PISI downloads it directly from your calendar provider to know what's on today (for a morning summary and to stay quiet in meetings). The address and the events stay on your computer.
Browser extension (optional)
PISI's browser extension lets the cat walk on the web pages you read. It sends only the shape of the page (where text, pictures and buttons are, and where the browser window is) and what's happening there, as rectangles and yes/no answers (where your selection is, whether a video or music is playing, which field you're typing in, whether the page is one of the distracting sites you listed, and whether you listed any) to the PISI app on the same computer, through the browser's native messaging. It never sends the words on the page, what you type, the page's address or your list of sites, and it sends nothing over the internet. When the cat knocks a word off a line or digs through a paragraph, those words are only hidden on your screen; reloading puts them back. It skips pages that ask for a password or card number, and mail, banking and password-manager sites.
Children
PISI doesn't knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
